Bacteriostatic water for peptide reconstitution. 30 mL. For research use only.
TrueLabs bacteriostatic water (BAC water) is sterile water with 0.9% benzyl alcohol, the standard laboratory diluent for reconstituting lyophilized peptides. Available in 3 mL and 10 mL vials and shipped from inside Canada with your peptide order, so you do not have to hunt for it at a pharmacy.
| Composition | Sterile water + 0.9% benzyl alcohol |
|---|---|
| Purpose | Laboratory diluent for reconstituting lyophilized research compounds |
| Format | Multi-use sealed vial with rubber septum |
| Sizes | 3 mL · 10 mL |
Bacteriostatic water is sterile water that contains a small amount of benzyl alcohol, a preservative that inhibits bacterial growth. “Bacteriostatic” means it stops bacteria from multiplying, which is what allows a vial to be accessed more than once in a lab setting without the contamination risk of plain sterile water.
| Bacteriostatic water | Sterile water | |
|---|---|---|
| Preservative | 0.9% benzyl alcohol | None |
| Use pattern | Multi-use vial | Single use, discard after opening |
| Typical lab use | Reconstituting peptides used over days or weeks | Single-use preparations |
For most lyophilized peptides used across several sessions, bacteriostatic water is the standard choice. Some compounds or protocols specify a different diluent; always follow your protocol.
Many Canadian pharmacies do not carry bacteriostatic water on the shelf, and some require a prescription to order it. Adding a vial to your TrueLabs order means it arrives with your research compounds in the same parcel.
Every lyophilized research peptide in our catalogue arrives as freeze-dried powder and needs a diluent, including BPC-157, TB-500, GHK-Cu, Ipamorelin and NAD+. As a rule of thumb, one 10 mL vial covers several peptide vials.
Store unopened vials at controlled room temperature, away from light. Once the septum has been punctured, keep the vial refrigerated and follow standard laboratory practice for discard timing.

Sterile water with 0.9% benzyl alcohol as a preservative.
Sterile water has no preservative and is intended for single use. Bacteriostatic water is preferred for multi-use laboratory vials.
The 10 mL vial is the better value and covers several peptide vials.
